Argentine Armenians urge Turkey to accept the past
On April 20, at the initiative of Argentina's parliament and "Armenia" Cultural Union, the parliament's "Gilt Hall" hosted a solemn evening dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide
A solemn evening was organized in the Argentine parliament commemorating the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The event was attended by parliamentarians Maria Jose Lubertino, Fabio Basterio, Supreme Court member Eujenio Safaroni, representatives of political, social circles, and members of Armenian community. Present at the solemn event were Vladimir Karmirshalyan, Armenian ambassador to Argentina, and Gisak archbishop Muradian, head of the Argentinean diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church.
The participants of the event mentioned, "Despite the attempts of the Turkish authorities to annihilate the Armenian nation, Armenians proved that they have the right of living and creating both in Armenia and outside its borders."
The participants urged Turkish Government to recognize and denounce Armenian Genocide committed 95 years ago.
