“Armenian side behaves wrongly”
"Armenian side behaves wrongly on the eve of the Washington meeting as Turkey will speculate the meeting and present it as a dialogue," Chairman of Heritage faction Stepan Safarian said during the NA briefings when commenting on the upcoming meeting of Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan and Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyp Erdogan.
"As usual, Turkey wants to gain time and show the world that the process is ongoing while in reality the ratification of Armenian-Turkish protocols is blocked," he added.
According to Mr. Safarian official Yerevan cannot take a political decision of withdrawing from the Armenian-Turkish rapprochement. The withdrawal can be disastrous for both sides.
ARF-Dashnaktsutyun MP Artsvik Minasyan says Armenia always agrees to everything and assumes the role of initiator. "The protection of national and state interests must be the most vital issue for us. Each of us must strive to better Armenia's place in the international arena. Arranging a meeting between Sargsyan and Erdogan Turkey simply tries to keep the Protocol's ratification on the agenda."
Prosperous Armenia Party member Naira Zohrabyan did not want to comment on the upcoming meeting.
"Turkey has appeared in a deadlock with its decision not to ratify the Zurich Protocols," she said.
Chairman of the ruling Republican Party Galust Sahakyan does not take an interest in Sargsyan-Erdogan meeting. He is more concerned about Sargsyan-Obama meeting.
