HAK activist attacked in front of FIDH representatives
Employees of Erebuni hotel turn out to be ill-disposed to everything connected with the opposition. The hotel today hosted a congress of the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH). In the meantime, the hotel's security guard focused on a poster "Freedom to 14 Political Prisoners" stuck on the wall by the adherents of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Izabella Sargsyan and Lala Aslikyan.
The security guard tried to "get rid of" the unwanted poster by force. A1+ could not film the incident since the hotel employees locked in a room on seeing our camera.
"They attacked us, hit me on the face and hands and took away the placard," Izabella Sargsyan told A1+. She is going to report the police on the assault.
A few FIDH representatives witnessed the incident, and an elderly woman shouted in English, "You should not behave like that!"
A group of HAK children who wanted to give flowers to FIDH female representatives on the occasion of Women's Day were denied access to the hotel. The children were able to enter the building after the intervention of FIDH representatives.
Asked what factors their ill-treatment was determined by the employees advised asking the hotel owner.
The hotel houses ex President Robert Kocahrian's office.
