Postanjyan’s claim upheld
A Yerevan court today granted Heritage MP Zaruhi Postanjian's claim against a police investigator. The case was remitted for further investigation.
The deputy challenged the investigator's decision on dropping slander charges against an "Azatamtutyun" daily publication that called her bad names and carried an edited picture showing her face on a nude body.
She applied to the Prosecutor's office to start a criminal case against the newspaper editor and journalists demanding to hold them to account. But the Prosecutor's office decided that there was no criminal case and declined the application.
This decision was later protested by Ms. Postanjian in the Court of First Instance of Nork- Marash administrative districts which today upheld the deputy's claim.
