The co-rapporteurs for the monitoring of Armenia of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) have welcomed the prompt response of the Armenian authorities to their call for a "roadmap" to put into effect the reforms recommended in the aftermath of the March 2008 election violence.

Andranik Kocharyan, member of the disbanded Fact-Finding Group investigating the events of March 1, 2008, is not elated with the co-rapporteurs' statement.

"Co-rapporteurs John Prescott and Georges Colombier have welcomed the Armenian authorities numerous times in the hope that they will finally do something. But as you see, our authorities are busy with imitations," Andranik Kocharyan told A1+.

"To date, the murders of March 1 are not disclosed. The reports of the Fact-Finding Group which contain circumstantial evidence on the murders are left on paper.
Today Prescott and Colombier are glad that the Armenian authorities have reacted to their calls for a "roadmap." This is another imitation by David Harutyunyan under the guise of reforms or roadmap, which in fact, will yield no results."

Andranik Kocharyan does not expect the authorities to take measures regarding the revelation of the March 1st murders.

"Nothing will be done unless the Armenian leadership passes from imitation to practical steps," he noted.
Andranik Kocharyan also blames the co-rapporteurs for not detecting the ten murders.

"If the Co-rapporteurs gave a negative assessment to Nikoyan's report, they were to make their suggestions. They needn't delude our people. They say nobody wants a recurrence of what happened in March of 2008. if they really want to prevent a reoccurrence they should disclose all perpetrators of the deadly clashes."
