HAK activists march in downtown Yerevan
Youth activists of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) today held a march in downtown Yerevan with a placard "Freedom to Political Prisoners!"
Unlike other marches held on Fridays, HAK activists today were escorted by 2-3 policemen.
The marchers walked through Abovyan, Amiryan, Mashtots and Koryun streets waving Armenian flags and chanting "Struggle till the end," "Armenia's independence is in your hands!"
The marchers were distributing flyers informing about the opposition's march of March 16 and rally of April 6.
"We demand that the authorities free the political prisoners and restore justice in the country. Our marches aim to inform our compatriots about illegalities," said Hayk.
"We want our citizens to know about the existence of political prisoners in Armenia. People needn't stay idle as each of us can appear in jail instead of them," said Lilit.
