Residents expelled from their homes on ByuzandStreet, employees of "Taxi 1" OJSC and the mothers of soldiers killed in different RA military units held protests near the RA government building today.

Nearly 20 families expelled from their homes on ByuzandStreet for state needs were gathered near the government building today. As president of "Defense of Property Rights" NGO Vachagan Hakobyan told "A1+", the government's 2 million dollar compensation would satisfy all 20 families.

Employees of "Taxi 1" OJSC also continued their protest today. The employees demand the resignation of head of the taxi service David Ghazaryan who has fired all 30 protesting employees for two months. "We don't know what will happen next. We are given compulsory vacation only when the plans are not fulfilled. But everybody has completed the plan," said former chief accountant Henrik Andreasyan.

The employees had come to the demonstration with a sign reading "End to illegal acts of "Taxi 1" OJSC". Government officials promised to respond immediately after the session. Among the protesting employees was the director's elder brother Ghazar Ghazaryan who was also left unemployed.

"He told me that I had secretly purchased 44% of shares from the government without his permission. That was not confidential. I had informed everyone about that through letters and bought the shares during a bid," said Ghazar Ghazaryan as he reasoned why his brother had fired him.

Among protesters was Ninel Ivanyan, who has been a long-running nurse at "Armenia" state hospital. She was demanding her job back and payment of the 5-year salary that was "illegally not given to her."

In an interview with "A1+", she said she was fired only because she had asked the administration to raise her salary as much as the other nurses. She had even appealed to court, but her issue remained unsolved.
