“Crusade against Zaruhy Postanjyan”
"The authorities' crusade against the Heritage Party and its key activists, including Zaruhy Postanjyan has reached its climax," reads a Heritage statement dated February 10, 2010.
The party views the police intervention with the protest action of Heritage young activities, MPs and NGOs against the Armenian-Turkish Protocols, recent dishonoring media publications about Mrs. Postanjyan, deliberate dismissal of Heritage MPs Larissa Alaverdyan and Zaruhy Postanjyan from Armenian delegations to the OSCE and PACE as another cynic yet unsuccessful attempt to restrict the rights and freedoms of the party's supporters and electorate.
"This is another violation of the European Convention of Human Rights with which the Armenian leadership seeks to stand in the way of everyone struggling for the rights of Armenian citizens. We disapprove of the policy of these authorities who declare the page of the "March 1st events" closed, who have formed a coalition on the basis of corruption, intimidation and impermissiveness.
Despite all efforts of the authorities, Heritage pledges its voters, supporters and Armenian spread worldwide to be consistent in its struggle against the Armenian-Turkish trumped-up protocols, "Madrid Principles," corruption and impermissiveness and to fight for the establishment of genuine democracy, human rights protection and a Free and Mighty Armenia for the sake of next generations."
