“Authorities are imitating”
"As usual the Armenian authorities are waiting for outside pressure and I characterize it as pressure," Armenian Revolutionary Federation MP Artsvik Minasyan, member of the ad hoc Committee looking into the March 1 events, said commenting on PACE Co- rapporteurs recent statement.
"PACE urged the Armenian leadership to provide the Monitoring Committee, before its meeting on 17 March 2010 in Paris, with a clear timetable for the reforms recommended by the ad hoc Committee. It means that the Committee is interested in the proposals of the parliamentary committee and their rapid implementation.
"The main problem is whether our authorities are ready to implement the reforms or not. I am convinced that neither the NA majority nor the authorities are ready at present since the reforms suggest a more democratic country, a social state with full protection and exercise of citizens' rights," said Mr. Minasyan.
The latter is under the impression that the authorities seek to apply to imitation.
Armenian Revolutionary Federation is highly interested in the reforms and will see to their implementation.
