“The price for PACE resolutions”
The Armenian National Assembly will not finance Larissa Alaverdyan's participation in the works of PACE Monitoring Committee. Heritage Party was informed about the decision today.
"It is already six times the authorities hinder Heritage MPs' activities in PACE and prevent them from portraying Armenia's real image in the structure," Heritage Faction Leader Stepan Safaryan told a press conference today.
Stepan Safaryan described the recent "adventurous" of the Armenian delegation in PACE in the following way: "An operation of playing tricks on each other."
The order of the operation was given by the Presidential Residence and the main responsibility was laid on Davit Harutyunyan, Head of the Armenian delegation to PACE.
"The scenario implied replacement of Zaruhy Postanjyan by Armen Rustamyan in the permanent delegation. Obviously, this is a "crime" against Heritage at an official level," said Mr. Safaryan.
During a Committee sitting of January 26, Mrs. Postanjyan presented all grounds disabling Mr. Rostamyan to represent Armenia in the PACE Monitoring Committee.
"During the sitting I said that Mr. Rustamyan should also bear responsibility for the tragic events of March 1, 2008, since he was in the ranks of real criminals - authorities. Special headquarters featuring Armenian Revolutionary Federation ministers was operating on March 1 in the government building. It means Armen Rustamyan cannot simply be impartial," said Mrs. Postanjyan.
The latter doesn't expect any changes from PACE Co-rapporteurs John Prescott and Georges Colombier regional visit. In Strasbourg the Co-rapporteurs complained of Zaruhy Postanjyan who blamed them for inactivity.
"In Strasbourg Mr. Prescott asked me why I was filing complaints against them. Mr. Colombier kissed my hand and said I needn't have complained of them. Everyone can see the close relationship between the Co-rapporteurs and Davit Harutyunyan," Mrs. POstanjyan said today.
On her way to the Monitoring sitting Zaruhy Postanjyan met Armen Rustamyan and Davit Harutyunyan.
Unlike the other delegates, they were carrying huge boxes with the words, "Fragile. Handle with Care! I don't know what there was inside the boxes."
Stepan Safaryan immediately added: "Last time Davit Harutyunyan said they had taken 5 bottles of brandy and 3 pictures to Strasbourg - the price for one resolution. I don't know what they took to PACE this time"
