CEC registers Simonyan as MP
The Central Election Commission (CEC) today registered National Unity member Ara Simonyan as an MP when summing up the results of a parliamentary by-election of January 10.
Let us remind that yesterday the Territorial Election Commission announced Ara Simonyan as the winner ahead of results of appeals.
According to the commission, Ara Simonyan received 6850 votes, followed by chief editor of Haykakan Zhamanak daily Nikol Pashinyan (4650) and Marxist Party leader David Hakobyan (288).
CEC members Zoya Tadevosyan (Heritage) and Hamlet Abrahamyan (Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun) didn't sign the CEC decision.
