Ministers met
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan received today his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
Welcoming the delegation led by Sergey Lavrov, Edward Nalbandyan mentioned that the Russian Foreign Minister was the first high-ranking official to visit Armenia this year and that pinpoints the high level of existing relations between the friendly nations and federal governments.
Edward Nalbandyan and Sergey Lavrov stressed that the active and regular political dialogue between the Presidents of both states creates a solid basis for further development of mutually beneficial relations.
The parties appreciated the effective cooperation established between the Armenian and Russian Foreign Ministries.
The Foreign Ministries of both countries discussed the dynamically developing relations between the two countries, issues of the South Caucasus region, as well as the political, military, trade-economic and humanitarian cooperation between Armenian and Russian regions, coordination of positions within the framework of international organizations.
The Ministers exchanged views on the process of settlement of the Karabakh issue within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan attached importance to Russia's support to Armenia's steps towards normalization of relations with Turkey.
The sides also touched upon the implementation of joint economic projects and Edward Nalbandyan expressed gratitude for the $500 million stabilization loan provided by Russia in 2009, as reported by the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
