By-elections in Kentron district
A parliamentary by-election is being held in Yerevan's Constituency 10 today.
Three candidates will compete for a parliamentary seat vacated after the resignation of opposition parliamentarian Khachatur Sukiasian about 100 days ago. The candidates are Nikol Pashinyan, editor-in-chief of Haykakan Zhamanak daily, Ara Simonyan, member of the National Unity Party and David Hakobyan, leader of the Marxist Party.
The Constituency is comprised of 34 election centres.
Remind that Nikol Pashinyan is presently in detention waiting for his verdict to be announced on January 19, 2010.
