Today the National Assembly continued election of members to the National Commission on Television and Radio.

Continuing his yesterday's speech ARF-Dashnaktsutyun Chairman Vahan Hovhannisyan once again highlighted the role of an unbiased commission. Addressing his colleagues Hovhannisyan said: "Frequently, our parliamentarians complain of mass media accusing them of an unbiased attitude towards deputies. This is really sorrowful. But how can these parliamentarians expect respect from mass media if they are not independent in their decisions?" said the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun Chairman.

"Our party will unanimously support candidate Gevorg Harutyunyan who was able to prove with his deeds that a person affiliated with a party can act impartially and freely. The freedom of journalists and party members is not restricted by parties. The country's unhealthy atmosphere and cowardice make a person utter nonsense. Do not become slaves of telephone calls," added Mr. Hovhannisyan

"The four members elected by the National Assembly will be accountable to the parliament and will obey no other body while implementing their liabilities. The order of election is a novelty and I do hope it will work," said Heritage MP Stepan Safaryan.

To remind: seven candidates have been nominated for the four members of the National Commission on Television and Radio. They are Aram Melkonyan, Gevorg Harutyunyan, Koryun Arakelyan, Hayk Kotanyan, Armen Mkrtchyan, Karen Vardanyan and Gohar Arshakyan.
