Yerevan's Shengavit district court today resumed the trial of outspoken oppositionist and chief editor of  Haykakan Zhamanak daily Nikol Pashinyan. Once again, video footage was examined during the proceedings.

The advocates drew the court's attention to the fact that the investigation body had overlaid the scenes at Mashtots Avenue on Pashinyan's speech near the Statue of Miasnikian.

Later, Prosecutor Koriun Piloyan announced that Pashinyan's speech had inspired people and made them commit disorders on March 1.

"Pashinyan's voice couldn't be audible in Mashtots Avenue. Besides, Pashinyan urged his civilians to stay near buses near Zakian Street," said Advocate Lusine Sahakyan citing Pashinyan's speech.

The clips could be considered powerful evidence proving that the disorder, burning and looting were carried out by the police who later took to flight.

The advocates asked the court for time to prepare motions. They also asked the prosecutor to present the full version of the footage.

The next sitting is due on December 7.
