Heritage Party MP Larissa Alaverdyan is concerned about the talks over the Karabakh conflict at the level of foreign ministers.

Remind that the next meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers is due in Athens next week.

"The outcome of these meetings is later called "progress." Here we witness the so called Corfu Process. No details are given about the meetings but later they put certain responsibilities on the executive body," Mrs.  Alaverdyan told A1+.

Larissa Alaverdyan views meetings at the ministerial level as "an assumption of new liabilities."

"They reach agreements in the back of their people. I am confident that all processes taking place in the political realm without legal grounds are doomed to failure," says Larissa Alaverdyan.

Mrs. Alaverdyan is confident that Serzh Sargsyan will not announce good tidings about his meeting with Azerbaijani President in Munich "since he has nothing to say."

"Let us not be naïve. We understand that the Armenian side doesn't follow its claim that the negotiations should first determine the status of Karabakh and than focus on other issues."

The talks are held over the Madrid Principles which demand that Armenian troops be withdrawn from the liberated territories which according to Mrs. Alaverdyan, is unrealizable.

"Surrender of the liberated territories means a new war and no president - be he legally or illegally elected will agree to this."

The Heritage MP is surprised at the authorities' statements that the Armenian-Turkish rapprochement shouldn't be linked with the Karabakh conflict.

"Turkey has announced that it closed the border because of the Karabakh conflict and can do nothing else today. The reason for closing and opening of the border must be the same.

RA authorities rely on the Minsk Group mediators who will prevent the border opening. Russia may serve as an example since the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border does not stem from the interests of the country. Moreover, Russia doesn't like the idea of deploying peaceful I would rather say squabbling forces in the region.

Larissa Alaverdyan doesn't rule out the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border in the nearest future.
