They don't want Armenians out of Javakhk
The Armenian government discussed the RA bill on "Making a change in the RA Criminal Code" presented by deputy Larisa Alaverdyan by order of legislative initiative. According to the author, the bill is called to ensure the independence of advocates and provide full defense of suspects. The government proposed to edit the corresponding article of the code and approve the bill that was presented.
During the session, the government examined the RA bill on "Making changes and additions in the RA law on "Local self-governing bodies in Yerevan". The bill was presented by a group of deputies of the RA National Assembly by order of legislative initiative. The government found it appropriate to stay neutral and touch upon the issue in the second half of 2010 after the recap of the study on the experience of application of new approaches in Yerevan.
The RA government gave a negative conclusion of the RA bill on "Making additions in the RA law on "Value Added Tax" presented by RA deputies Vardan Bostanjyan and Gohar Yenokyan by order of legislative initiative. The bill proposes to apply the zero rate of the VAT with the purpose to sell products produced in Armenia for exports, which the government considers unacceptable.
The next bill was presented by deputy Shirak Torosyan by order of legislative initiative and it was on "Making addition in the RA law on "Foreigners", but the government rejected it.
If the bill were accepted, according to the government, it would infringe upon the principle of equality of all Diaspora Armenians, particularly Georgian Armenians and it would not only strengthen the rate of fall of the number of Armenians in Javakhk, but also have a negative impact and become the reason for the decline of Armenians from Javakhk.
These bills will be presented to the RA National Assembly by the established order.
