The Turkish delegation of intellectuals and representatives of non-governmental organizations involved in women's issues paid a visit to the RA National Assembly.

The delegation is in Armenia within the framework of the program of the "Urban" stable development fund and "European integration and gender issues". The Turkish delegation expressed the desire to meet with RA parliamentarians and discuss a number of important issues of the RA policy on the national project for solving issues concerning women and raising the effectiveness of European integration processes.

The Turk guests were received by the woman parliamentarians who expressed hope that women would also contribute to the effectiveness of the initiated Turkish-Armenian dialogue with their tenderness and tactfulness.

Researcher at the University of Bosfor, Demir Rahime Bulut informed that he is studying the works by Armenian writers who wrote in Turkish with Armenian letters in the early 1900s. During his studies, he has come across many interesting facts about Armenians' active efforts and huge role in Turkey. In response to that, head of the standing committee on issues concerning European integration Naira Zohrabyan said: "I am happy to see that you are involved in studying the history and I am sure that you will be impartial and help Turkey acknowledge the historical truth. Any country becomes strong by acknowledging its past."

Head of the delegation, senior professor at the University of Fati Kafer Ulu is involved in studying Turkish-Armenian relations and is the author of the voluminous work entitled "Armenians in Turkey" and donated one of the copies to the Armenian National Assembly library.

The Turk delegates expressed the opinion that it is necessary to strengthen social relations and in response, head of the standing committee on European integration Naira Zohrabyan noted that the societies can have an impact on state policy. She also expressed confidence that the Turkish society will be bold to accept the historical truth, have an impact on the government's position and contribute to the normalization of relations between both countries.

According to Republican deputies Hermine Naghdalyan and Karine Atchemyan, the meetings will only provide the opportunity to get to know each other and the important thing is that the first meeting is between the intellectuals who are capable of forming public opinion and shape the guidelines.

Representing the "Heritage" faction were Larisa Alaverdyan, Anahit Bakhshyan and Zaruhi Postanjyan. According to them, the greater the contacts between both societies, the more the confidence will strengthen; the more the history is presented honestly, the more both nations will win. According to the women parliamentarians of "Heritage", there is no need for intermediaries in the bilateral contacts.

In the end, the Turk delegates expressed gratitude for the warm reception, the open conversation and expressed hope that the meetings would truly contribute to the strengthening of the initiated Turkish-Armenian dialogue.
