Aram Sargsyan, brother of Commander Vazgen Sargsyan and chairman of the "Republic" Party, says that the best way to respect the memory of the victims of October 27 is to reveal the crime.

Aram Sargsyan says that all the award-ceremonies, memorial openings and other events organized by the authorities in memory of the victims of October 27 are formal.

"Ten years have passed, but that doesn't matter for the relatives of the victims. It is not true that time heals the wounds. There is no such thing. The longing grows and it is impossible to fill in that gap," Mr. Sargsyan said.

As far as the revelation of the crime of October 27 is concerned, Aram Sargsyan said:
"A sincere person like Vazgen wouldn't care if the case was revealed or not. It is important for us, the living."

Aram Sargsyan also said that his doubts still haven't been dispelled. "Unfortunately, the current authorities, particularly the Republican Party, didn't exclude and even claimed that the terrorist acts were organized from the outside."

Sargsyan didn't exclude that October 27 could have been organized from the outside either. "The Republican Party declared that in order to save face. They currently have total power in parliament and their chairman is the president of the Republic of Armenia. If they considered Vazgen as their friend, let them reveal the case of October 27. Unlike Robert Kocharyan, at the time Serzh Sargsyan thought that October 27 was organized, at least that's what I've been told."

Whom do you suspect? In response, Aram Sargsyan said:
"I suspect those whom the terrorists called and those who did everything to not reveal the case of October 27."

Aram Sargsyan thinks that Levon Ter-Petrosyan did the right thing by calling on uniting around Robert Kocharyan after the events of October 27, 1999. According to Sargsyan, that was in the interest of the country.

"If I didn't consider it right, I would not accept Robert Kocharyan's proposal to become prime minister. At the time, everyone was a suspect. A trial had to take place to reveal the culprits, but that trial hasn't taken place to this day."
