"The Armenian National Congress will definitely hold a rally," Congress representative Vladimir Karapetyan told "A1+" today and mentioned:

"We still don't think it's the right time to provide the people with information through a rally, but we will hold it at the right time."

Touching upon the state in the country, Karapetyan said that keeping Nikol Pashinyan locked up in jail is more important for the government than the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

"The crisis in Armenia is far from over. The government continues to keep 17 political prisoners in jails and there are no reforms in the sphere. The government has taken as many loans this year as they have in the past 17 years," said Vladimir Karapetyan.

Talking about the signed Turkey-Armenia Protocols, Karapetyan denied the rumors that Congress representatives, Levon Zurabyan and David Shahnazaryan, have different views on the issue.

"The Congress believes that they are very poorly negotiated documents that bring up a number of issues. David Shahnazaryan's proposal is the continuation of Levon Zurabyan's viewpoints. Shahnazaryan is simply reminding the political solutions to relieve Armenia from more difficult issues."

"A1+" asked Karapetyan to touch upon Serzh Sargsyan's two-day visit to Nagorno-Karabakh as well.

"Serzh Sargsyan and the government have stayed silent for a week and are not responding to the charges brought up by the Turkish and Azerbaijani president and prime minister according to which Armenia is an occupant. I think that Serzh Sargsyan senses the gravity of the moment and has initiated consultations in Nagorno-Karabakh"

Karapetyan reminded that the OSCE Co-Chairs had visited the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic after a long interval and informed the NKR authorities of the agreements made with Serzh Sargsyan. Karapetyan says that the Turkish parliament will not ratify the Turkey-Armenia Protocols and will give preference to its relations with Azerbaijan.

"For 16 years, Turkey has tried to get engaged in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. It didn't manage because our arguments were strong. Today Turkey reached its goal and it is as much of an intermediary in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution as the official OSCE Minsk Group intermediaries."
