New president
Today Anne Brausser was elected President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, replacing former president Matias Yorshi.
As reported by the press service of the Council of Europe, Anne Brausser has been in politics since 1975. She has served as Minister of Sports and Education of Luxemburg and was Head of the Committee on Culture, Science and Education of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe until her election.
The ALDE is the third largest political group in the PACE with 101 members from 38 countries. "Prosperous Armenia" party representatives Naira Zohrabyan and Armen Melikyan, as well as Republicans Grigori Margaryan and Hermine Naghdalyan are Armenia's representatives in the ALDE.
