On the eve of opposition rally
The opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) holds a rally in Yerevan on September 18.
HAK's senior representation Levon Zurabian says the rally will declare the start of a new wave of the national movement at a decisive period for Armenia and its people.
Turkey's interest in the formation of a sub-commission on the historical dimension is evident. The sub-commission will dismiss the worldwide recognition of the Armenian Genocide and smooth the tension in Turkish-American relations.
Armenia will only receive guarantees for the border opening at the cost of the Genocide denial. Moreover, if once Turkey needed a government agreement to reopen the borders now the Protocols must be ratified by the Turkish parliament. In this way, Turkey's government pretends to be holding a constructive approach towards the normalization.
Strangely though it may seem, the Protocols do not touch upon a fundamental principle of the international right - "right of nations to self-determination".
Armenian authorities are cheating by saying they have separated the Karabakh issue from Armenian-Turkish relations and have reached an agreement with Turkey without preconditions.
Armenian leadership is ready to any concession, even to mean bargains over the Karabakh issue, to maintain its illegitimate power, runs a Congress press release.
Asked what measures HAK will take to suspend the process, Levon Zurabian said that on September 18 the Armenian National Congress convenes a meeting, to highlight the details of Congress's future steps.
