Members of a group of Armenian youth organizations will hand a letter to the French Embassy in Armenia tomorrow regarding French Armenian freedom-fighter Sargis Hacpanyan.

The letter is addressed to French President Nikolay Sarkozy, as reported by co-chairman of the Union of Young Conservatives Hayk Mirzoyan.

Let us recall that the first instance court of the Kentron and Nork-Marash districts of Yerevan sentenced Sargis Hacpanyan to 3.5 years in prison based on the charge of false treachery.

On November 3, 2008 Sargis Hacpanyan gave an interview to the "Haykakan Zhamanak" daily where he said that Serzh Sargsyan was going to organize an assassination against him and that is why he was charged.

Sargis Hacpanyan may be released by amnesty, but for some reason, amnesty has not been applied for him to this day.
