Armenia promises not to diverge

Head of Armenian Mission to NATO Samvel Mkrtchyan had a meeting with NATO's new Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

Mr. Mkrtchyan congratulated the Secretary-General on behalf of the Armenian President, Foreign Minister and Defense Minister.

It has been stated that Armenia is ready to reinforce relations with the Alliance, and that the Individual Partnership Action Plan will be chaired to serve the mission.

The Ambassador emphasized that the Armenian side signifies participation in NATO's peacekeeping activities and that Armenian servicemen would be engaged in support to Afghanistan' Security Program.

The Secretary-General positively assessed NATO's cooperation with Armenia in the frames of acting formats. Mr. Rasmussen signified Armenia's participation in the activities chaired by the Alliance and underlined that the collaboration with South Caucasian countries will be ongoing.
