Call for release
The National Press Club released a statement:
"The National Press Club expresses uncertainty about the imprisonment of editor-in-chief of "Haykakan Zhamanak" Nikol Pashinyan in the context of the authorities' statements regarding amnesty as a show of good will and humanitarian acts.
Taking into account
-lack of society's confidence in the March 1 trials,
-the need to mitigate social dissidence and overcome the results of March 1,
-liabilities of the authorities to secure human rights,
-the role of "Haykakan Zhamanak" editor-in-chief Nikol Pashinyan in the development of modern-day press in Armenia,
The National Press Club calls on the Armenian authorities to release editor-in-chief of "Haykakan Zhamanak" Nikol Pashinyan," as stated in the statement.
