"Apparently, the RA law-enforcement bodies and the government are not carrying out the constitutional and legislative powers," said today former RA Deputy Prosecutor General Gagik Jhangiryan.

He went into detail regarding the "administrative, police persecutions and intimidation, the taxing and customs terror, illegal processes and the trial of March 1 and gave his evaluations.

"The law-enforcement and judicial bodies have completely turned into a structure that fulfills the political orders of the government, protects the businesses of the wealthy and state officials and conceals the crimes committed by their kin. They are violating the Constitution and the laws day after day."

Gagik Jhangiryan specifically touched upon the activities of the Special Investigative Service and recalled the aim of that organization.

"Today, it has turned into the best department that has nothing to do with criminal law and theory, formulates charges, tries to find false information, degenerates the youth and throws down the reputation of Armenia's prelminary investigation and criminal trial system."

According to Jhangiryan, the prosecutor's office has completely forgotten about its purpose and what it is called for. He also announced that the RA laws are not bad laws and the problem is to enforce the laws. In closing, he said that the RA independence and sovereignty is in danger and the Congress will win.

Jhangiryan also informed that the Armenian National Congress will soon announce the creation of a database/card index for registering the violated rights and freedoms of RA citizens to serve as a first step to get out of the created situation. He also mentioned that the card index will be for the future authorities, while the current authorities will be brought to justice for their state crimes.

"A1+" asked Jhangiryan if he was still member of the Land Defenders' Union, taking into account the union administration's passive stance in terms of persecutions against members of his organization. In response, Jhangiryan said briefly: "I am an average member of the Land Defenders' Union and that's all for now."
