RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan met with his Cypriot counterpart Markos Kyprianou who is in on an official visit to Yerevan with the delegation led by President of the Cyprus Republic.

During the meeting, the sides discussed in detail a wide range of issues relating to broadening Armenian-Cypriot relations, particularly cooperation within international organizations, inter-ministerial consultations, economic cooperation and steps to be taken to activate exchange of cultures.

Minister Kyprianou mentioned that the official visit of the President of the Cyprus Republic at the invitation of his Armenian counterpart opens a new page in bilateral relations and goes to show that the Cyprus Republic is interested in further reinforcement and deepening of the multifaceted cooperation with Armenia.

Edward Nalbandyan and Markos Kyprianou also touched upon relations between Armenia and the European Union and discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation within the European Neighborhood Policy and the Eastern Cooperation programs.

After the meeting, Edward Nalbandyan and Markos Kyprianou signed a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on the cooperation between Armenia's Civil Service Council and the Ministry of Finance of the Cyprus Republic in the presence of the Chairman of Armenia's Civil Service Council Manvel Ghazaryan and Armenia's Ambassador to Cyprus Petros Chestoras.
