"Heritage" demands from the RA authorities to follow the rapid and effective solution of issues facing Javakhk.

Today the "Heritage" party accepted a statement which states:

"The "Heritage" party welcomes the Georgian President's official visit to Armenia and views it as another stimulating step toward development of multilateral relations between both countries. According to the party, the visit had to be aimed at raising the level of friendly relations between the neighboring countries and solving issues facing Armenians living in Georgia and Armenia. This expectation was due to numerous facts of violation of the rights of Armenians in Javakhk and Georgia over the past couple of years. Unfortunately, not only were our expectations not met, but the RA authorities took steps that violate human rights by prohibiting peaceful protesters to hold a protest for Armenians of Javakhk.

"Heritage" states that the RA authorities were obligated to view the peaceful protests organized by Javakhk Armenians as a reminder to the high-ranking Georgian delegation about the current issues facing Javakhk during Mikheil Sahakashvili's visit to Armenia.

"Heritage" strictly condemns the illegal operations of the law-enforcement bodies and demands from the RA authorities to follow-up on the rapid and effective solution to issues facing Javakhk based on the principle of supremacy of law and the centuries-long relations between Georgia and Armenia.
