"Mirzoyan and Harutyunian joined the beating"
Former policeman Christopher Elazian amnestied on June 22 after a general pardon is detremined to continue his struggle.
"The amnesty was imitated. The authorities were forced to free the political prisoners," Christopher Elazian said to A1+.
The former policeman was charged with calls for mass disorders and sentenced to a four-year imprisonment.
"They possessed no evidence. The article didn't comply with the accusation. Everything was imitated. I was indicted for allegedly beating a policeman while in reality I saved his life. I realised that the policemen was forced to give a perjurious testimony. I don't blame him. God will decide his fate."
Christopher Elazian was detained on March 4, 2008, and kept in the Police Kentron Department for two days. Then he was taken to the Special Investigation Service were he was severely beaten up.
"They beat everyone there making them bear false testimony. Even the head of the Investigation Group inquiring into the events of March 1-2, Vahagn Harutyunian, and the head of the Special Investigation Service Andranik Mirzoyan joined the beating. Mirozyan told his emlpoyees to take me away and shоot. I felt like a hostage in the hands of Turks. They didn't allow my advocate to visit me for a month," tells Elazian.
Christopher Elazian has appealed to different instances but all in vain.
"I don't blame our courts either as I think they in no independent court in Armenia. I am going to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights."
Christopher Elazian resigned in 2001 and left abroad. He says people are freer in foreign countries and he realy envies them.
"When I was back to Armenia I felt soryy for our people. İt is a pity that a pesron cannot feel free and protected in his homeland. This is a real tragedy," he adds.
