Special Sitting is underway
The National Assembly today convenes a special sitting to consider the issue of amnesty initiated by Serzh Sargsyan.
Tens of people have grouped near the parliament building with a demand to release the political prisoners.
Under that draft amnesty only prisoners sentenced to at least three years' imprisonment will be granted pardon.
With regard to the March 1-2 detainees the document reads: "To release all people charged with a deliberate crime and sentenced to five years' of prison who have served one third of the sentence term and all those sentenced to ten years of prison and serving half of the sentence."
