Completely fulfilled?
Serzh Sargsyan met today with the president of "Russian Railways" OJSC, the concession manager of the Armenian railway system, Vladimir Yakunin.
Underscoring the Russian-Armenian strategic alliance, President Serzh Sargsyan said:
"We view Russia as our most reliable ally and prioritize the further strengthening of bilateral ties."
Vladimir Yakunin transmitted to Serzh Sargsyan the best wishes of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
The president of Russian Railways expressed gratitude to the RA President for his proper evaluation of the railway's importance for Armenia's economy.
The interlocutors discussed the current state of the Armenian railways, the perspectives for development and the implementation of commitments assumed by both parties under the concession. They particularly touched upon the modernization of the railway, reconstruction of the rolling stock, the rails and other programs aimed at transfering cargo at minimum prices.
Vladimir said that he is generally satisfied with the work that has been implemented recently and that serious steps have been taken towards raising the level of effectiveness of management. The president of "Russian Railways" assured that the commitments will be completely fulfilled.
