Diaspora feels impact too
A group of European Armenians have declared that what happened in Armenia on May 31 was an "unprecedented electoral defalcation."
The European Armenians have also condemned the European observers' "predetermined and cynical statements that did not correspond to reality."
"The Armenian authorities must realize that they must prove that there is solidarity and cooperation through actions and not mere words. What happened in Armenia left a huge impact on relations between Armenia and the Diaspora and the gap is growing bigger.
We call on the Armenian authorities and the Armenian government to revive and not sacrifice Armenia's statehood for personal interests, establish order and defend the people's rights, interests and dignity. We call on redressing the system, restore legality and rule of law, return to democratic principles while it isn't too late and while it is possible to save the country," as stated in the announcement.
The announcement was also signed by the Center for Armenian National Culture of Germany.
