Zaruhy Postanjyan laid responsibility upon NA Speaker
"Do not speak in a demanding voice," Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan addressed Heritage Party MP Zaruhy Postanjyan today.
The latter wondered why the NA didn't take measures for detained MP Hakob Hakobyan to attend NA sittings and introduce his legislative initiatives.
"Why don't you take efforts to free our detained MPs," asked Zaruhy Postanjyan.
The question immediately made the NA Speaker nervous.
"You make me speak openly. And why didn't you attend the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State-Legal Affairs? You were to participate at the sitting and voice the proposal. It is upon the Committee to proceed or cancel the discussion of an issue. Besides, you are not entitled to interfere with the activity of the Republican Party. You wonder why... And I answer because all issues are discussed inside the Party," said the NA Speaker.
Zaruhy Postanjyan noted that she had missed the Committee sitting deliberately.
"Yes, I did it on purpose as I was well aware of the Republican's stance. Moreover, we planned to convene a special sitting on the issue but thanks to your Party our initiative failed."
"You are not objective. You simply raise issues but I don't see any practical steps taken by you," answered Mr. Abrahamyan.
The National Assembly then passed to the discussion of legislative initiatives left unaddressed during the previous four-day sitting.
