Is Kocharyan leaving Armenia?

Armenia's ex President Robert Kocharyan may be appointed independent director of Russian Systema's Board of Directors, reports www.kommersant.ru. Systema is Russia's leading shareholding financial Corporation. Kocaharyan is supposed to promote the Corporation's development in Armenia.
The Holding has a "K-telecom" mobile operator controlled by Systema's daughter enterprise MTS.
On May 28, the cooperation announced job vacancies for the 13 members of the Board of Directors. The list is to be confirmed on June 27.
Two candidates are nominated for the independent director-Robert Kocharyan and Rajiv Mekhrotran, the founder of Indian "Shyam Groupof India" Company cooperating with Systema Co.

The main activists of the cooperation are MTS (52 %), Sky-Link (50 %), Comstar (53 %), MGTS (33 %), Invest Connection (25 %), Sitronics (71 %), etc.
Board member Vladimir Yevtushenko owes 62 % of the Corporation's shares. 19 % are invested in stock exchanges in London and Russia. The Corporation's capitalization was calculated 6, 28 milliard dollars as of May 28.

"Kocharyan fully masters the CIS market where the daughter enterprises operate. He has a unique experience in international ties and enjoys respect among Russian and foreign business circles," reports Systema's press service.

Komstar started operating in Armenia in 2008. At first the Company's 24 base stations covered Yerevan and 18 Armenian towns. The stations are supposed to mount to 40 throughout Armenia.  The volume of investments in Armenia was 4,6 million dollars in 2007-2008.
