"We have always focused on the Karabakh issue but today we have other concerns, too," says ARF Bureau representative Hrant Markarian.

The most positive point in the talks is the respect for the principle of self-determination. At least we were to respect it as Karabakh has twice gained independence. This is a serious concern for the Dashnaktsutyun.

The ARF is also concerned over Karabakh's passivity. "The Karabakh issue doesn't solely belong to Karabakhi people. On the other hand, we cannot struggle for Karabakh without Karabakh. We expect activity of both official and non-official Karabakh," added Mr. Markarian.

Note that the OSCE Minsk group Co-Chairs are arriving in the region today. The visit is aimed at arranging a meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents in Saint Petersburg.
