The unexpected appearance of "Kilikia" sailer near the Matenadaran has created a stir in Yerevan City.

The sailer's placement and strengthening started from early morning and caused major traffic inconveniences.

The ship captain Karen Balayan says a concert dedicated to the ship's first navigation will be held tonight.

The ship's deck will serve as a stage with an audience facing to the Matenadaran.

Mr. Balayan noted that the City Hall had authorized the concert and the ship would be removed in a day or two.

During a conversation to A1+, Gagik Baghdasarian, a senior representative of the Yerevan Municipality, confirmed the information.

"We have made all arrangements," added Mr. Baghdasarian.

Let's remind that the Armenian National Congress (HAK) plans to hold a rally near the Matenadarn on May 29.

The ship captain underlines that the trading ship was restored thanks to the old manuscripts of the Matenadaran.

Captain Balayan says they want to seize the opportunity to inform the public that "Armenia possesses a great treasure named Kilikia. But the ship's fate still remains unsettled as it has no shelter."

The ship has been kept in the territory of a Yerevan salt mine for three years. The captain states that the issue should be settled on a state level.

"We cannot tackle the issue on our own. We realize that they cannot allot money because of the global crisis. On the other hand, the ship is on the verge of collapse. If the sailer is ignored for another few years, we shall finally lose it," underlined the captain.

Strangely though it may seem this year the government earmarked 96 million drams to "Armenians and Sea" Organisation but no penny was allotted for the restoration of the  salier.
