Defendant wanted to present the pole to the prosecutor
During today's trial Yerkrapah's deputy chairman, Armenian MP Miasnik Malkhasian condoled with the relatives of the victims killed during the blast in Nairit Plant.
Drawing parallels between Nairit and the case of the seven oppositionists standing trial on charges of the March 1 events, Miasnik Malkhasian said: "The architects and perpetrators of the case who lave levied charges against the seven oppositionists will remain under those ruins."
Before the judge's arrival, an argument broke out between a Haylur reporter and Miasnik Malkasian. The latter was indignant that the reporter had mounted the witness's testimony and taken the part advantageous to the authorities.
Yerkrapah Union Member and watchman Arayik Harutiunian, was called to the witness stand today.
According to Arayik Harutiunian, on March 1 Miasnik Malkhasian had been in the administrative building from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. He was accompanied by 3-4 guys. The witness saw no arms in their hands.
After Prosecutor Harutiun Harutiunian asked whether the witness had noticed a stick or a pole in Malkhasian's hands, the latter got nervous.
"Your Excellency! Let's give them their pole as a present. Let them stop defaming a NA deputy. They had better bring an automatic machine or a tank or something else..."
Prosecutor Harutiun Harutiunian motioned for a second interrogation as "the witness's pretrial evidence contradicts his words."
Note that Miasnik Malkhasian is charged under Article 225 of the Criminal Code (calls for mass disturbance).
