The position of India's Prime Minister will likely be trusted to the Gandhi dynasty

After the results of the parliamentary election were publicized in India, heated discussions started over the country's new prime minister.

The leader of the leading party "Indian National Congress", Sonia Gandhi, told a press conference that the Congress had decided to trust the Prime Minister's office to the acting Premier Manmoham Singh for another five years.

Anyway, Sonia Gandhi's son, Rahul Gandhi is said to take over the office in a few months. The latter has already been offered a post in the Minister's Cabinet.

Independent expert Hemant Joshi thinks the new parliament will follow the track of the previous one. "It is too early to speak of Rahul Gandhi appointment to the position of Prime Minister," Mr. Joshi said to A1+'s reporter.

Lecturer of Institute of Mass Media, Professor Shashvati Goshvami says the new parliament should focus on the spheres of education and agriculture.

He didn't exclude Rahul Gandhi's appointment to the position.  "Presently, Manmoham Singh is the best candidate for the post. Rahul Gandhi still has a long path to pass. I think the Prime Minister's position will belong to the Gandhis in half a year," Shashvati Goshvami said to A1+.

AS a result of a recent parliamentary election in India, the Indian National Congress gained a vast majority (255 votes out of 543) in the parliament's lower house, known as the Lok Sabha. The left oppositional "Indian Democratic Party" is the second with 166 mandates. The Party's Leader, Navin Patnaik has announced that they will represent the radical opposition in the Indian Parliament-Sansad.

The parliamentary election comprised of five phases and lasted from April 16 to May 13.  Over 60 % of the country's 714 million eligible voters participated in the vote.
