"Armenia is to shoulder the burden of refusal"
"The silence of our authorities is most concerning while people like Bryza and Mammadyarov have found an open field and announce whatever they want," says ARF Dashnaktsutyun Bureau's Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office Director Kiro Manoyan regarding the Prague meeting of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
With regard to U.S. Co-Chair Matthew Bryza's interview with Echo Moskvi, Kiro Manoyan said: "When any of the co-chairs makes a statement for his audience he lingers the conflict settlement."
Bryza's optimism doesn't instill confidence in Kiro Manoyan.
"After the Prague meeting Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister poured cold water on everybody's head after saying that "there is no tangible progress in the negotiations."
Kiro Manoyan thinks the most dangerous point in the negotiations is that Turkey connects the conflict settlement with Armenian-Turkish relations.
"The Presidents of Armenia and Turkey announced in Prague that Armenian-Turkish relations will be bettered without any preconditions. Following the Presidents' announcement Turkey's Prime Minister made another announcement saying Turkey will not reconcile with Armenia unless the Karabakh conflict is regulated."
Politician Hmayak Hovhannisyan says his predictions made still two years ago are becoming true. "Our authorities make concessions in the negations over the Karabakh conflict settlement but the authorities' policy cannot be justified.
Our diplomacy relies on Azerbaijan's declination policy. Our authorities hope that either the donkey or its owner will pass away untimely. But some beautiful day the Co-Chairs' proposals will become so close to Azerbaijan's expectations that the country will no longer refuse them. The beautiful day has come. Azerbaijan is ready to accept the Co-Chairs' proposals, and Armenia is to shoulder the burden of refusal."
