Roads are closed down again
Buses coming from the Marzes to Yerevan are not working today not because it is Labor Day, but because the Armenian National Congress is holding yet another rally.
"I have been waiting for a minibus since morning. I moved to the station, but found no bus. A couple of people there told me that the bus drivers are on vacation," said resident of Abovyan Karen to "A1+".
Resident of Byureghavan Narine said that she knew that there would be no buses today.
ANC press speaker Arman Musinyan told "A1+" that there are police cars stationed on the roads coming from Ashtarak, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Artashat and other places. They are checking the cars passing by and claim that it is the "defense" operation. Let us remind that the "Defense" operation is aimed at identifying weaponry and drugs and it is implemented by the command of the chief of police.
Why are the roads closed down again? In response to that, Head of Press and Public Relations of the RA Police Sayat Shirinyan said that no roads are closed.
"I understand very well that closing down roads and not letting people come is yet another speculation. The ANC is permitted to hold its rally and there is nothing standing in their way," said Sayat Shirinyan to "A1+".
Let us mention that the "A1+" journalist wasn't able to make it from Byureghavan to Yerevan due to lack of transportation. After presenting this to Shirinyan, the latter said in an angry voice:
"Who said that? They are coming from all directions. The same thing happens every time. I officially announce that the roads are not closed down and people are free to come."
There were a lot of people waiting for the bus at the station located in the back of "Rosia" movie theatre. But the people there said that buses coming to Yerevan are empty.
One of the drivers told "A1+" how he was forced to come to Yerevan with his own "Opel" car after he was forced to go back to Vanadzor on his way to Yerevan. Police even stopped him in Alagyaz and told him to pay 2,000 drams to let him go to Yerevan.
The "A1+" cameraman was prohibited to shoot scenes at the bus station. One of the supervisors even demanded the cameraman to delete the scenes because that was their territory.
