Ombudsman condemns
The Rapid Reaction Group of the RA Ombudsman's administration left for the "Erebuni" clinic to visit coordinator of the ARMENIA Today news agency Argishti Kiviryan who was transferred there after he was beaten today.
But the group was not able to see Kiviryan due to his critical condition. Lusine Sahakyan, Argishti Kiviryan's wife, told the Rapid Reaction Group representatives that they believe that the reason for the assault was Argishti Kiviryan's journalistic activity.
The RA Ombudsman condemns this strictly dangerous and faulty practice used as a form of showing disagreement. The Ombudsman calls on the police to take all necessary measures to reveal the criminals, taking into consideration the fact that almost none of the previous cases of assaults against journalists have been revealed and that the environment of tolerance of crimes leads to new assaults.
