The ARF decided to keep the posts of two committee heads at the National Assembly.

Member of the ARF Supreme Body Armen Rustamyan will continue as head of the standing committee of international relations, while Artur Aghabekyan will keep his post as head of the committee on defense, national security and interior affairs.

"We share the ideas stated in the proposal of the coalition and we are going to fight within and out of the coalition to broaden powers of the opposition in Armenia and create a civilized field for debates," said today head of the ARF faction at the National Assembly Vahan Hovhannisyan, speaking on behalf of the ARF.

Hovhannisyan also said that he welcomes the proposal of the three coalition-member parties about keeping the posts of heads of two committees after the ARF quit the coalition.

"We are willing to stay true to those principles and approaches and are willing to introduce a new culture in Armenia's political field and political relations. As the opposition, we are in favor of and will fight for the opposition to have more and more mechanisms of counterbalance and repression while working with the authorities. Having a strong opposition also strengthens statehood. We accept the proposal of the coalition and our faction members will continue their work as heads of NA committees," said Vahan Hovhannisyan.
