During his recent press conference, Serzh Sargsyan told A1+ that he is always ready to consider appeals for pardon.

Detainees David Aghayan and Never Stepanyan arrested in connection to the March 1 deadly clashes have already sent appeals for pardon.

David Aghayan, the grandson of Armenia's prominent faretale writer Ghazaros Aghayan, was arrested in mid-May.

He is charged under Article 316 of Armenia's Criminal Code. A Yerevan court has sentenced David Aghayan to a five years' imprisonment.

David Aghayan isn't affiliated with any party; he is simply an opposition activist.

Never Stepanyan, charged under Article 225 of the CC, is affiliated with the Yerkrapah Volunteers Union. He has been sent to 3.5 years of prison.

The conditions in isolations cells had their reverse impact on the detainees' health and made them appeal for pardon. Armen Khachatryan, Coordinator of the Center for the legal support of political prisoner, confirmed the information.

According to our verified sources, three other detainees have appealed for pardon but we have been unable to know their names.
