GAGIK JHANGIRIAN’S BROTHER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
Support A1+!The Police of the Republic of Armenia issued a statement at night.
“The Department of Organized Crime of the RA Police received a report that the people in the black BMW X5 and silver VAZ 21010 cars were armed and intended to destabilize the situation in the capital.
At about 11 p.m., on February 23, the officers of the department stopped the mentioned cars at Argavand crossing. The people in the cars resisted and disobeyed the officers’ instructions. All of a sudden officer Rafik Muradian’s gun shot inflicting light injuries on the officer of the same department Gevorg Malkhassian, officer of the 3rd department Tigran Karapetian and Gagik Jhangirian’s brother Vardan Jhangirian. The police detained Former Deputy Prosecutor Gagik Jhangirian, Vardan Jhangirian, Karen Hovanissian and Levon Poghossian.
Gagik Jhangirian carried a "CZ 75" pistol, Vardan Jhangirian a "PSM" pistol and Karen Hovanissian a "Makarov" revolver. They were all charged with cartridges. The policemen also found a hunting rifle, a Browning revolver, a knife, handcuffs and body armor on the spot. Vardan Jhangirian is detained.
Investigation is underway.
