PRYAKHIN POINTS THE RA OPPOSITION IS WEAK
Support A1+!The RA NA Chairman Tigran Torosyan received Ambassador Vladimir Pryakhin, the Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, on the termination of his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
Tigran Torosyan expressed his gratitude to Vladimir Pryakhin, ensuring that their cooperation would continue in all directions.
Vladimir Pryakhin noted that the 44 months in Armenia were the period of fruitful cooperation. The Ambassador highly estimated the NA elections noting that it was the first time that the opinion of all international institutions concurred on the unprecedented elections in the RA. He pointed that the amended Electoral Code was a good basis for conducting democratic elections and a major precondition for registering similar progress in the forthcoming presidential elections. Mr Pryakhin pitied that the opposition in Armenia was still weak. He prioritized the attitude of the opposition on project implementation issues for political stability in Armenia, noting that the OSCE would also work on that matter.
Tigran Torosyan guaranteed that the presidential elections would also be conducted in compliance with international standards. Reflecting on the opposition issue, Mr Torosyan stated that the establishment of multi-party system and its improvement was of great significance and mentioned that it was a common problem for the post-soviet period countries.
