RoA President Robert Kocharian received EU Election Observation Mission at the head of Marie Anne Isler Beguin, the Co-chair of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary cooperation Committee.

The parties dwelt on May 12 election-related issues.

Robert Kocharian thanked the observers for their mission to Armenia at this decisive moment.

RoA President viewed the elections from two angels. Firstly, these are the first elections after the constitutional amendments. Secondly, parliamentary elections precede presidential ones.

According to Robert Kocharian, the election campaign was conducted in a civilized way and political forces were given equal footing to present their view-points.

President Kocharian underlined the RoA Government's determination to conduct free and fair elections in compliance with international standards. Robert Kocharian voiced hope that observation missions would give unbiased assessment to the elections.
