Jirair Sefilyan’s fellow soldiers and followers have created the “Committee for Protection of the RA Civil Right of Jirair Sefilyan”.

“The committee was created to legally establish the citizenship of war participant, commander and citizen of Lebanon Jirair Sefilyan due to the fact that the Armenian authorities do not legally issue citizenship.”

According to the statement, “the purpose of the committee is to protect the rights of all Armenians who have earned the passport verifying their citizenship as an Armenian and as people who have served the homeland.”

The committee will carry out its activities based on RA legislation and in the framework of international law.
