The winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe starts January 28. On January 27 the PACE Monitoring Committee will consider the implementation of PACE Resolutions 1609 and 1620 by Armenia. The Committee may suspend Armenia’s voting rights in case they find their recommendations unmet.
Before the parliamentarians come up with their opinions, PACE Co-rapporteurs on the issues of Armenia John Prescott and Georges Colombier will read out their reports in the morning of January 26.
The Monitoring Committee will also consider the last August Russian-Georgian conflict, recent hostility in Gasa and the global financial crisis.
