CO-REPORTERS BEGIN THEIR MEETINGS
Support A1+!Co-reporters of the PACE Monitoring Committee John Prescott, George Colombie and Secretary of the Committee Bas Klein are once again in Yerevan in order to be familiar with the situation at hand before the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) winter assembly.
The co-reporters will meet with Serzh Sargsyan today at 4 p.m. Before that, they will meet with RA National Assembly Chairman Hovik Abrahamyan, Secretary of the RA National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan, head of the Armenian delegation to the PACE Davit Harutyunyan, president of the temporary commission for the March 1-2 events and the investigation Samvel Nikoyan, experts of the Fact-finding group, RA Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan, as well as Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Silvia Zehe.
The co-reporters have already met with RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan.
There are no meetings scheduled with representatives of the opposition. Press speaker for Levon Ter-Petrosyan told “A1+” that they have not received any proposal or request for a meeting. As far as he knows, there is no meeting with the political prisoners either.
The co-reporters and secretary of the committee will leave on January 16.
The PACE will hear the issue of the requirements on January 27.
The Monitoring Committee had made the proposal to deprive the Armenian delegation to the PACE of its voting rights during the session on December 17.
