AT LEAST THREE MARKSMEN ON MARCH 1
Support A1+!“The killer is on his own,” said today member of the Armenian National Congress Davit Shahnazaryan and expressed serious doubts that there was one marksman on March 1, as chairman of the NA March 1 temporary commission and head of the Special Investigative Service Vahagn Harutyunyan have declared.
Mr. Shahnazaryan also substantiated why there couldn’t be one marksman if, of course, the marksman wasn’t a “killer”.
“According to the administration, it is foreseen that each subdivision of the police staff has one marksman. According to the same administration, the 10.32, 10.33 and 10.35 subdivision forces participated in the events of March 1; thus, each subdivision had to have one marksman. How can the administration say that there was one marksman?” said Davit Shahnazaryan.
He also underlined that the marksman usually has at least one assistant. Shahnazaryan also drew attention to the contradicting statements of Samvel Nikoyan and Vahagn Harutyunyan. Nikoyan says that a person died from the shot of a marksman, while Harutyunyan claims that the marksman shot at somebody’s foot and is under persecution.
Shahnazaryan believes that this is an issue that the March 1 fact-finding group must discuss and invite Nikoyan and Harutyunyan to an investigation. David Shahnazaryan is sure that there were a couple of marksmen on March 1 because there are many tapes where one can hear the gunshots. Shahnazaryan says that the tapes must also be examined. He assured the authorities that the opposition has a number of facts relating to the March 1 events and advised them to not wait for the publication of those facts.
Touching upon the “Case of the Seven”, Shahnazaryan remarked that it is not by chance that the administration has attached the murders of the 10 victims to the case when it is clear that they were murdered as a result of police actions. According to order, if anybody dies as a result of police actions, the policeman must present a note to the administration within 24 hours.
“Why aren’t those notes attached to the “Case of the Seven”?” asks Shahnazaryan and adds that the case doesn’t include the registered examinations of the scene where the bodies were found.
